As a television writer and director, she has made a name for herself with more than two dozen reports in the ZDF documentary format 37 Grad and an average market share of 12 per cent among around 60 million viewers.<\/p>\n

Her trademark is lively, authentic portraits with moving interviews. Trost is passionate about stories about people who take the risk of turning social norms upside down. She tells her stories in a style that leaves room for intimacy without sacrificing humour and provocation. Her focus is on the topics of gender, work and education.<\/p>\n

As an author, Sibylle Trost writes for Die Zeit<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n

Director, journalist, storytelling expert for digital media<\/h3>\n

Sibylle Trost is a filmmaker and journalist with extensive experience in traditional and digital production environments \u2013 from the analogue magnetic tape era to non-linear editing systems, mobile journalism, smartphone TV and the use of AI in film production. Her work is characterised by innovative narrative forms, media transformation and a keen sense for social issues.<\/p>\n

With Insights Media Berlin<\/a>, she has been developing and producing media formats for digital communication since 2015: reports, social media videos, statements, campaign content and multimedia storytelling projects for organisations, companies and institutions. Her focus is on media training, workshops, coaching and empowering teams to use modern video and content production themselves.<\/p>\n

Media career in transition<\/h3>\n

Her journalistic career began in 1989 \u2013 in the midst of Germany’s reunification \u2013 as a television reporter in Berlin and Brandenburg for the magazine programmes of Sender Freies Berlin (later RBB). She was a current affairs reporter, assistant director of a historical Berlin series, and radio journalist for the Deutschlandradio Kultur and Deutschlandradio.
\nShe produced her first half-hour TV report as co-author for Deutsche Welle TV on the visionary space project Biosphere 2<\/em><\/a> in the USA.<\/p>\n

ZDF 37\u00b0 \u2013 Stories that move<\/h3>\n

In the year the ZDF series 37\u00b0 was founded, Sibylle Trost became part of the permanent team of authors. Her focus: human stories with attitude \u2013 close, real, moving.
\nIn fifteen years, in addition to numerous magazine articles and classic reports, she has produced more than two dozen documentary reports that impressively combine social issues and personal destinies.
\nHer first 37\u00b0 documentary, Der Mann mit dem Schinken am Hut<\/em> (The Man with the Ham on His Hat), was nominated for the Axel Springer Prize for young <\/strong>journalism<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Media literacy and storytelling<\/h3>\n
